Made to be known

Heard an incredible podcast driving home from Houston by a friend from seminary days – Betsy Nichols. She so eloquently & gently exhorted me to be more open to sharing my life with others in the body. We were made for community because we are made in the image of a triune God. What if we did life together & used what we have to help one another live well for Christ? “It’s not good to be alone, cause we were made to be known.”

Go to: ITunes – search: Irving Bible Church, then click on WE Podcast & scroll down to 11/3/09 – Betsy Nichols – Titled: Aloneness.

Well on this same drive I realized how much music impacts my life. I’ve always loved it. Mrs. File tried to teach me piano from the time I could read. Try – being the operative word. Somehow you don’t become good if you don’t practice. Who knew? Along came Mrs. Royal, then Mrs. Kessinger and well they taught me to love voice. Since the whole world seems to love it, not just me, I think it’s a God ordained enjoyment. It’s the songs that tell stories & help me figure stuff out that stand out in my mind, so I compiled a completely useless list of my favorite songs. They are mostly country, cause well that’s who I am, with a little Christian in the mix. Like I said, nothing earth shattering, yet since I know at least Beth reads my blog, maybe you can relate sweet-voiced friend. Well here’s to being known. I give you permission to judge me for my musical tastes :)
