So many fun things have happened since my last post, bah, I don’t know where to start!
1. Awesome visit with Katy & Brede. My friend Matt asked me last minute to go to Dallas. Got in at 7 pm that night, stayed up til 4 being completely ridiculous with Katy & Bredester, then spent the afternoon with some incredible guys at the GES Conference. Dan Hauge, a professor at Grace University, offered me lunch & we sat around & talked for 4 hours about the role of women in ministry, life as a pastor & professor, the joy he & his wife have had raising their 3 kids and just what an incredible journey it is to walk with the Lord. I had an absolute blast. Then that night, I had dinner with Dan & 4 of his friends – Buddy, Roger, Mark & Daryl. They were such a neat group of godly men. Buddy is a retired pastor with a heart of gold & those guys sat around telling stories, asking me questions & just sincerely loved on their little sister in Christ. It was such a neat experience. I left around 9 that night & cried tears of gratitude & joy for the first 2 hours I drove. I was so grateful to be loved on, encouraged & validated. I can’t really express how unique of a day it was without sounding like a total sap.
2. Fantastic date with Caleb, my 11 year old nephew. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings where we schooled everyone in trivia, then ate an enormous amount of candy and popcorn at 3-D Monsters Vs. Aliens. Such a great movie!! He is such a great kid who will grow up to be an incredible man of God. His name is well suited to his personality & character.
Numbers 14:24 “Only my servant Caleb, because he had a different spirit and has followed me fully…”
3. Super fun date & birthday party for Brice. I get a kick out of this child. He just turned 4 & has the funniest sense of humor. He loves to hum while he’s eating his breakfast. Nobody can be grumpy at 7 am when you’ve got a hummer at the table. Starts the day off right. For our date, we ate cheese fries at Eskimo Joes, had ice cream with gum balls and gummie bears at Marble Slab, then walked around Petco & checked out the kitties, turtles & snakes. He was very disappointed to learn that Petco doesn’t carry baby seals. I asked him if he wanted a hermit crab like Nathan does & said, “No, I’d rather have a baby seal.” Good choice.
The birthday party was pretty fun too. Lots of Spiderman. I got him a bat mobile. Figured every boy needs one of those & a Spiderman shirt. Guess which one’s gotten more use? He wears the heck out of that shirt. Cried this morning when he found out it was dirty.
Best part of our date was getting back in the car. He grabs his seatbelt to try and do it himself. He loses his grip and the belt gets caught on his face. Through a muffled voice he starts laughing and says, “Take my picture.”
Man I’m gonna miss these kids.

Dan Hauge: Hey, found you. We had such a great time with you. I think it was that daughter/sister thing to some degree. But, it was being in the presence of a woman of God to a larger degree. I had fun telling the fam about you. I hope they get to meet you sometime. It’ll be fun around the throne, but you know, early is good, too. I hope the Lord moves hearts to dump tons of money on you. I cannot wait to be before the throne and see my sister honored before the throne. We will sing and dance, all of us, and remember a time when there was death, and sickness, what was that called, oh yeah, sin. And, as we remember, we will always be pulled back to Him, to His endless mercy, to His grace. And, it will be so good to exalt and praise the only One worthy. What will it be like to see Him smile when we love on Him? To see such greatness and such humility in one Being will be worth about a billion years of praise at least. Nah. Forever. It’s not just hope. It’s not just a dream. It’s our future, our reality. You get ready, girl. Make Him proud!
